Preparation is one of the essential ingredients for success in an interview. Not only will knowledge help you decide whether you'd like to work for a particular organisation, it will enable you to ask some informed interview questions.
Research the following:

When it was formed? Who started it ?

What is the company's financial state – are they expanding or downsizing?

What is the current share price and how has the company done over time?

What is the company’s mission statement and unique selling point?

Who are their major competitors?

What skills, education or previous experience are they are looking for?
Make sure you find out as much as you can about the company. There are numerous ways to get this information including the Internet and annual reports. Visiting the company website can be useful to gain an understanding of what the company does, its goals, values and financial information. Most industries have trade publications and reading through these may help you gain further knowledge of the industry, including current trends and issues.
